I love beautiful things. I also love beautifully made things. And there is a difference.
Enter TÜBR, a cigar storage tube that arrived on my desk looking more like it contained a serious timepiece than something designed to protect a cigar. From the packaging to the weight in your hand, TUBR immediately delivers that increasingly rare sensation: this thing is really well made.
The packaging is gorgeous. Clean, sophisticated and substantial. One might say right out of the design lab at Apple. Open it up and the tube itself continues the story. It feels sturdy, beautifully finished and engineered rather than simply manufactured. There’s nothing flimsy, gimmicky or disposable about it.
This matters because the luxury cigar-accessory business has gotten a little ridiculous.
I’ve seen (and owned) single or double cigar tubes from luxury houses that wander happily into the $400 to $500 neighborhood. Some are covered in leather. Some have a famous logo. Most of them come in a standard branded box. Whoopie! While beautiful, do you need to pay $500 to carry a cigar?
TÜBR takes a different approach. It puts the emphasis where it belongs: construction, protection, design and function. It feels substantial enough to toss into a briefcase, golf bag or carry-on without wondering whether the cigar inside is going to arrive looking like it survived a bar fight.
